The present article, together with the regulation, founds the Ph.D School “Archimedes” in Science, Communication and Technologies (deliberation of the Physics Department on the 24th of June, 2008, of the Earth Sciences Department on the 3rd of July, 2008, and of the Linguistics Department on the 16th of April, 2008), with the aim of filling a gap in the local and international scientific scenario, to adjust itself to interdisciplinary and international models of research and education. The size of the concerned topics, the different adopted methods, the specific disciplinary instruments that compose the Ph.D courses, have shared basis in the elaboration of common research and educative paths, and in the unity of intents and efforts, which are directed to realize cultural intervention lines, giving the possibility to the School of playing a primary role in the research and education scenario of the Athenaeum at a national and international level. Thanks to the Scientific and Educational Framework, the collocation of research of the School, as well as the foreseen educative approaches, are outlined.

The strategic lines of the School cultural policies are present in the Characteristics of the Ph.D School “Archimedes”. Finally, closing the proposal, the Objectives of the School, together with the Self-Evaluation Mechanisms, Educational Program and the PRofessional Opportunity are discussed.
